Cpl Rose was selected by the Battalion as the NCO of they year. Cpl Rose served during both OIF I and II. Combat meritorioously promoted to Corporal. Awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat Distinguishing Device. The Bn Association took great pleasure in presenting the NCO Sword to Cpl Rose.

Present for the Bn Association were Jim Conklin, Frank Pedersen, Oscar Kergalvis and Dennis "dawg" Thun. There wasn't much of a cermony as 3/4 is flying out Sunday and Monday. Col Kennedy said their AO would be Falluja. We did a quick presentation in a general meeting room told some sea stories and basically left. Notification of this presentation wasn't made because we didn't find out that we were going to present the sword before Wednesday and they wanted to keep it fast and simple.
