The Bn association has for the last few years presented a NCO sword to the NCO of the year as designated by the Bn. I apologize for not collecting and presenting this information prior to this year. A little background information, this tradition started in the 1990's. The Bn association wanting to do something for the active duty Marines of 3/4 decided that presentation of a NCO sword to an outstanding NCO as designated by the Bn would be a good thing to do. I'm not sure who should take credit for this idea but it's an outstanding one for sure. ( I think it should warrant a promotion ).
